Rochelle is the Managing Principal of Japan Intercultural Consulting and an authority on the cultural and organizational issues of Japanese affiliated businesses and joint ventures in the U.S. She is the author of over 15 books on intercultural issues faced by multinational organizations and individuals, including “The Rice Paper Ceiling”, “U.S. Business Buzzwords” and “English for Effective Business Meetings” . In this interview Rochelle spoke with me about some of the biggest problems non-native English speakers experience in business meetings conducted in English. As the interview progresses she offers some strong advice on how non-native English speakers can assert themselves more in such situations.
